Does anyone feel like the Thieve's Guild got shortchanged? Why are there no followers? It has all these neat characters and after a short conversation you never get to interact with them again.

Or maybe I'm just still sore that Brynjolf won't let me marry his accent. Well guess what, Brynjolf? After we die, we're spending all of eternity together as Nightingales, so I win.

The general consensus was that having a follower would hinder your ability to sneak around as your companions A.I. isn't flexible enough to allow for complicated executions (hiding on top of a rock in the corner of a dungeon from 5 draugr deathlords without yelling "I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD"). Not much of a point for the thieves guild to offer a follower when thieves are better off alone.

I agree, I think we should of been able to have the same benefits as the College of Winterhold and the Companions! it's unfair how PC-gamers get all the cool marriage mods and stuff
